The call of winter and the changing of the seasons is all wrapped up in
this composition. Not meant to be a holiday song per se, but an effort to
capture the essence of the wistful, introspective feelings brought on by
this time of year.
Kristin stepped in after hearing an early demo of the song and together
we recomposed, and greatly improved, the bridge/chorus section. We
also removed the intro, at her suggestion, which now serves as a coda
near the end of the piece.
It was released as the first single, three months prior to the album.
